But something was bugging me today. I have a very dear friend who I met when I worked in Colorado for a company known as VR-1. I taught him how to write and since then, he's gone on to publish a number of short stories and the like, all to realize his dream of being an author. I'm glad I know him and I'm glad that I was able help him realize his ambition. Thanks to him I'm a better writer, myself. He really is a good friend, but some times even good friends can go too far. Like I said, he's a really good dude and I'm glad I know him, but he takes things personally when bad things happen to his friends... and that can make you do stupid things.
Lately, he's been sending me links to various posts on the AA boards. I guess things aren't going so well, there right now? I'm sorry to hear that. :(
Anyway, in the last link he sent me, he pointed me to a "Signs your MMO is shutting down" thread on their forums. I guess he took the opportunity to bang the war drums a little bit by dropping my name and reminding folks that the game has gone through a lot of churn.
This is not constructive. Yes, absolutely - every single content lead on that project has moved on to a different company and yes many of them did so as a result of what they felt were problems they were going through while working there, but come on. No one needs that dirty laundry. Least of all my little problem child, AA.
Everyone on that team busted their asses to make that game. If you're upset because you think some people on that team got a raw deal, please don't take that out on the AA community, OK? They don't deserve it. If anything, they're suffering, too.
Also, don't call me a fucking redshirt. That's just rude. I wore the yellow lycra, thank you very much. ;)

(You're a good dude, but lay off OK? I'm sorry I never got to finish the stories in that world that I was telling you - I hate it to - but pissing in the community's pool won't fix it... it'll just make no one want to swim.)

I second that.
While it chafes my ass in a big way that my storyline is unfinished (actually it *is* finished, just not all implemented in the game - butthurt galore); I would rather hear about the big fun people were having playing what I did get to put in. Don't drive them all out with scandalous drama; It's an MMO, they'll get enough of that without RL stuff poking it's head in don't you think? Oh, and incidentally, if anyone wants to know any details about the LORE of AA, send me a PM, I may have your answers. Then again, I may just give you a little 'Hestia misdirection' I am, after all, the father of that.
